Pentecostal Voices Across Continents: Europe-Asia Pentecostal Summit 2025

From 13 to 18 May 2025, City Harvest Church, Singapore will host the Europe-Asia Pentecostal Summit—an insightful dialogue between Pentecostal scholars from two continents.

Titled “Pentecostal Voices Across Continents”, the summit seeks to synergise the experiences and insights of leading Pentecostal theologians from Europe and Asia, addressing the shared challenges and new opportunities facing the Church today.

In an era marked by growing secularism and theological drift, the global Church is in need of grounded, Spirit-filled clarity. That’s why EAPS: a gathering hearts and minds that takes place in Singapore—bringing together passionate voices, deep theological reflection, and a Spirit-led desire to shape the future of Pentecostalism in Asia and beyond.

EAPS builds on the momentum of the Global Pentecostal Summit held in 2023, a gathering that sought to re-establish the local church at the heart of theological reflection in the Pentecostal tradition.

That vision gave birth to Global Pentecostal Voices—an ongoing initiative to foster theological depth across the Global South, with Asia as a central focus.

In partnership with Regnum Books UK, the theological resources and proceedings from this EAPS will be made available in both print and open-access formats.

Through this collaboration, Pentecostal voices from around the world will be accessible to all.

Why Europe?

The answer is both historical and strategic. Europe has long influenced global Christianity, but today, it faces growing secularism. Once a centre of Christian culture, many parts of Europe are now seeing a sharp drop in church attendance and religious identity—especially among the young.

Yet even in this setting, Pentecostal scholars in Europe continue to reflect deeply on how their faith relates to today’s cultural, political, and social realities. Their insights—shaped by both challenge and perseverance—offer valuable lessons for Asian believers who also face pressure and adversity.

The EAPS will be a space for honest dialogue, mutual learning, and spiritual growth, drawing from the rich experiences of both regions.

Themes of EAPS

EAPS will explore topics that are spiritually and intellectually compelling. Attendees can expect robust discussions and presentations around themes such as:

  • The work of the Holy Spirit beyond church walls—particularly in non-Christian religious contexts
  • The continuity of the Church with the life of Jesus, even in the face of the “scandal of Christ”
  • Pentecost as a vision of humanity’s future, where Christ is “all in all”
  • The distinctive and sometimes challenging dynamics of Pentecostal leadership
  • Worldview clashes surrounding deliverance and exorcism ministries
  • Strengthening biblical foundations for communities under persecution or hardship
  • Pentecostalism’s ecumenical value across broader Christian traditions
  • The Christian’s role in civil society and responsible citizenship

A Home for Spirit-Filled Scholarship

Theological reflection is often seen as something that happens only in seminaries or academic settings. But EAPS challenges that idea, showing how a local church can also be a place of deep, Spirit-filled learning.

City Harvest Church is committed to being such a place—where theology and revival go hand in hand. This Summit brings global thinkers into a church setting to affirm that academic insight and spiritual gifts can strengthen one another.

Speakers include respected scholars such as Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen, Wolfgang Vondey, and Joseph Dimitrov, along with emerging voices from Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Together, they will model meaningful collaboration between Western and Majority World Pentecostal communities.

Come, and go deeper
Whether you are a full-time church worker, in the marketplace, or simply a Christian hungry for more of God and His Word, the EAPS is an invitation to go deeper. It’s an opportunity to learn from leading scholars, encounter the Holy Spirit afresh, and play a part in shaping the next chapter of Pentecostal witness in Asia and beyond.
