Lessons in Marketing and Branding

SINGAPORE, 19 NOVEMBER 2008 — THE BUSINESS of business is business.

Martin Ong, founder of First Automobile greeted conference delegates at Hall 3, V room 5 with a friendly smile and an eagerness to share his wealth of marketing and branding knowledge. These are one of the “wheels” that bring his business to the market and hence translating effort to profit — business tools that have helped First Automobile to be a business leader in luxury continental car sales.

Ong’s careful dissection on the topic of marketing and branding was done in a manner that helped attendees to understand the most crucial fact of marketing and branding, which is the purpose of having it all in the first place — creating a company’s image to reach the target market.

Digging from his own wealth of experience, combined with a plethora of knowledge at hand, Martin shared seven ways of effective marketing: corporate videos, television marketing, radio advertisements, print marketing, IT marketing, event sponsorships, road shows and, very importantly, being a market trend-setter.

But through this entire session, Ong continually emphasized on the need to rely on God in growing one’s business and to let that business shine in the marketplace. In closing, he reminded the audience that “The greatest thing is when God is in your business.”
