The Memory Walk 2010 was held at the Marina Floating Platform on Sunday morning, Nov. 21. Participants took part in a mass umbrella exercise workout, following which, Guest-of-Honor, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, flagged everyone off for the 3.4km walk. The Alzheimer’s Disease Association’s main objectives for the Memory Walk were to create greater awareness of dementia in conjunction with the Health Promotion Board’s Dementia Awareness Campaign 2010 and to commemorate its 20th anniversary. After the walk, participants were treated to other fringe activities such as health screening, information on dementia, stage performances as well as other educational activities.
