All in a Day’s Fun

Imagine a day where you and your friends gather for a pop concert by top celebrities including Taiwanese singing sensation F.I.R, Indonesian trio Molucass, and boyband heartthrob Vanness Wu, and then you are whisked off for a free dinner at one of Singapore’s oldest nature parks, Mount Faber. While this idea might seem impossible, 37 new friends from Lin Jun Xian’s zone did exactly that.

After enjoying rousing performances by international pop stars at City Harvest Church’s celebrity weekend, 47 members and their 37 friends from Lin’s zone were chartered down to Mount Faber’s Marina Deck Restaurant for a steamboat buffet. The diner was located on the hill summit in a structure that resembled a ship, and guests lapped up the tasty soup stocks that included herbal chicken and tom yum flavors.

As they dined together in a relaxed atmosphere, everyone took the opportunity to connect with one another, in the process sealing some genuine friendships. One of the new friends, Bernard Quah, 20, said, “I enjoyed the whole event including performances by the artistes and the food! It’s a really great idea to arrange a food outing straight after the concert.”

Zone Supervisor, Lin Jun Xian shared, “This concert and steamboat buffet has given our members an opportunity to reach out to their friends and family. One of our members brought 11 friends and that encouraged her greatly as she realized how easy it was to reach out. It’s fantastic.”

With the stunning panoramic view of the Singapore skyline and Keppel Harbor as a backdrop, the night ended beautifully with families and friends capturing their shared moments on camera.
