In today’s challenging world, there is a premium on creativity and problem solving. It is important to help set our children on the path to creativity.

With that in mind, the Children’s Committee organized a workshop on “Setting Your Child on the Path to Creativity” with Ms. Carmee Lim, B Sc. M Ed (Early Childhood Education).

Ms. Carmee Lim holds an impressive resume when it comes to working with children:

  • Former Principal of Raffles Girls’ School for 12 years
  • Former Senior Inspector of Schools, Ministry of Education, Singapore
  • First Executive Director of the Academy of Principals AP (2003-2004)
  • Author of several books on children’s enrichment

Founder of Jumpstart Kidsports Pte Ltd and Aoede Music Enterprise, the workshop on 25 April 2009, Saturday, was attended by many interested parents and children ministry volunteers. They took away not just theoretical knowledge of how the human brain functions but also how to do their part to aid in the stimulation of their children’s mental processes and creativity juices. It was certainly an enriching time for all.

“Lead and craft imagination, encouraging playing, creating a passion for creativity… all these pointers to early childhood development are new insights for a young first-time mum like me!” said Lee Yilun, 28.
