Riverside Good Food

Just a stone’s throw away from Great World City, the Zion Riverside Food Centre is a treasure trove of cheap but quality eats.

The Riverside Good Food stall alone offers delicious gastronomic gem. Its signature Lak Chang Jian Dan (Chinese Sausage Omelette) is an titillating, tangy, savoury mix of sliced sautéed Chinese sausages fried in egg. Paired perfectly with an Oh Jian sour chilli sauce, every mouthful is refreshingly invigorating, without the usual cloying oily taste that accompanies most omelette dishes.

The sprouts are wonderfully crunchy, and the chai sim is firm to the bite, not yellow and overcooked. The fried pork lard bits come freshly made, topping off the light dish with just the right amount of sinful fat to satisfy your fried food craving.

So if you’re in the mood for some good, old-fashioned Singapore cuisine at bargain prices, you know where to go.
