CHRISTMAS 2011: Home For Christmas
Krystle Liew played the sweet and innocent milkmaid, Dorothy, a role she found challenging and rewarding.
“A milkmaid is a symbol of tradition and domestic virtue. Exploring her character was therefore one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences for me. Dorothy exemplifies innocence and a carefree spirit. Though she knows that over time, she will get played with less and less, yet her optimism and servitude to the other toys keeps the family together. Portraying her humility and positive outlook in this role was what I enjoyed the most.”
But had she been given a chance, she would have liked to explore being a female Tezzo. “The iconography of a soldier is often dominated by the men, but I think it will be interesting and refreshing to cast a female for this role. To challenge a stereotype and the boundaries of such a role will be very appealing to me!”
If she were to be an actual toy, this Winnie the Pooh fan says, “I would definitely be a teddy bear! A classic for all ages, and always ready for a good hug.”
