Jesus for All Minds, a ministry help group for people with special needs, has been organizing special events every week to reach out and make a difference in the lives of the intellectually-challenged.

Such is the commitment, hard work and love from the group’s volunteers. After a two-week break from Chinese New Year, JAMS held their first ‘Live House’ event on Feb. 27—the first event of this sort for JAMS.

Adiel Choy, supervisor, explained, “This is the first time we are holding ‘Live House.’ As we plan different programs every week for our members, we wanted something fresh that they would enjoy. Since our JAMS members like music, we decided to showcase some music performances.”

“It was good to see the kids so excited. The ‘Live House’ gave them a good exposure to music as they usually do not have a chance to attend concerts. Through this, we were able to give them an opportunity to experience a music concert, albeit on a smaller, less formal scale,” said Lee Yuxian, a volunteer.

The ‘Live House’ event was organized within a short period of time and performed by JAMS’ very own band, JAMWAVE. The band performed a number of well-known songs such as “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” “Yellow” and “Champagne Supernova.” The band’s energy was infectious and got everyone swaying and waving to the music in no time.

Alex Loh, JAMWAVE’s lead singer describes, “It is a good way to welcome everyone back from the holidays. Although we had to work within a short time span of two weeks to prepare for this event, it was all worth it! Since all of us are new to this arrangement, we had to find time to practice and ensure we gave a good performance.”

Khoo Jing Ye, the bassist of the band added, “It is really a great joy to bless the JAMS members through this ‘Live House’ event.”
